Engine removal is not required for this procedure.

Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection. |

Remove the engine cover. (Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Cover") |

Disconnect the battery negative terminal. |

Remove the RH side front wheel. (Refer to Suspension System - "Wheel") |

Remove the engine room under cover. (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover") |

Drain the coolant. (Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant") |
| 6. |
Drain the engine oil. (Refer to Lubrication System - "Engine Oil") |
| 7. |
Remove the drive belt. (Refer to Drive Belt System - "Drive Belt") |
| 8. |
Remove the alternator. (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Alternator") |
| 9. |
Remove the drive belt tensioner. (Refer to Drive Belt System - "Drive Belt Tensioner") |
| 10. |
Remove the water pump. (Refer to Cooling System - "Water Pump") |
| 11. |
Remove the crankshaft damper pulley. (Refer to Drive Belt System - "Crankshaft Damper Pulley") |
| 12. |
Remove the cylinder head cover. (Refer to Cylinder Head Assembly - "Cylinder Head Cover") |
| 13. |
Remov ethe engine mounting support bracket.

| 14. |
Remove the variable force solenoid (VFS) valve (A).
|
| 15. |
Remove the timing chain cover (A).
|
| Installation |

Install the timing chain cover.
|
| 2. |
Install the variable force solenoid (VFS) valve (A).
|
| 3. |
Install the other parts in the reverse order of removal. |

Repair procedures Inspection 1. Disconnect the key warning switch connector (A) and ignition switch connector (B) from the steering column. 2. Check for continuity between the terminals.
Description and operation Description The climate control air filter is located in the bower unit. It eliminates foreign materials and odor. The particle filter performs a role as an odor filter as well as a conventional dust filter to ensure comfortable interior environment.
