Repair procedures

Removal
1.

Remove wheel nuts, rear wheel and tire from rear hub.

Tightening torque:

107.9 - 127.5 N·m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf·m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb·ft)

  

Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the wheel and tire

2.

Loosen the shock absorber lower bolt.

Tightening torque:

98.0 - 117.6 N·m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf·m, 72.3 - 86.7 lb·ft)

  

Set up the transmission jack under the torsion beam in order to remove the shock absorber in no-load condition.

3.

Loosen the bolts and then remove the rear shock apsorber.

Tightening torque:

49.0 - 63.7 N·m (5.0-6.5 kgf·m, 36.2-47.0 lb·ft)

4.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Inspection
1.

Check the rubber parts for wear and deterioration.

2.

Compress and extend the piston rod (A) and check that there is no abnormal resistance or unusual sound during operation.

Disposal

1.

Fully extend the piston rod.

2.

Drill a hole on the (A) section to remove gas from the cylinder.

  

The gas released is harmless but be careful of chips that may stir up from drilling.

    Repair procedures Removal 1. Remove wheel nuts, rear wheel and tire from rear hub. Tightening torque: 107.
