Opening the hood

1. Pull the release lever to unlatch the hood. The hood should pop open slightly.
WARNING
Open the hood after turning off the engine on a flat surface, shifting the shift lever to the P (Park) position for Intelligent Variable Transmission and to the 1st (First) gear or R (Reverse) for Manual Transmission, and setting the parking brake.

2. Go to the front of the vehicle, raise the hood slightly, push the secondary latch (1) inside of the hood center and lift the hood (2).

3. Pull the support rod from the hood.
4. Hold the hood open with the support rod.
WARNING - Hot parts
Grasp the support rod in the area wrapped in rubber. The rubber will help prevent you from being burned by hot metal when the engine is hot.
To raise or lower the window, turn the window regulator handle clockwise or counterclockwise. WARNING When opening or closing the windows, make sure your passenger's arms, hands and body are safely out of the way.
1. Before closing the hood, check the following: All filler caps in the engine compartment must be correctly installed. Gloves, rags or any other combustible material must be removed from the engine compartment.

Description and operation Description The compressor is the power unit of the A/C system. It is located on the side of engine block and driven by a V-belt of engine. The compressor changes the low pressure and low temperature refrigerant gas into the high pressure and high temperature refrigerant gas.
